Sometimes, CGI is the only thing they can use (fast-paced aerial battles, for instance), but I prefer not to see it if they can use real sets instead. At this point, the toy commercials don't bother me especially since the series have storylines supporting the use of the toys -- they don't come out of nowhere.
I like to let fate decide what will happen if it isn't something so important. And sure, random.org let you select the lottery tickets, but I think they also have a disclaimer that the numbers are for entertainment purpose only and they are not responsible for whatever might happen if you use them. ^^;
Been a while since I last watched the Ultraman 80 episode in Mebius (ep 41), but I think 80 admits that he could not heal students fast enough for the monsters (which were powered from the darkness of human hearts) kept appearing, so he had to leave school and go fight monsters full time with the defense team. But still, it seems his work as a teacher was more worthwhile than he thought since his students all grew up to be good people -- well, at least those who come to the reunion held for him. And you are right about the other protagonists. The only other one I remember having a day job is the protagonist from The Return of Ultraman (Ultraman Jack). He was a race car driver and also had a girlfriend and life outside of the defense team.
