I completely agree, if toy commercials are the thing that allows them to keep the costumes and miniatures, I'm ok with the commercials, CGI just does not feel the same!
The difficulty is to stop at just one episode, instead of binging like ten episodes at once, getting tired and not watching any more afterwards XDD

A teacher protagonist sounds interesting, but it probably doesn't combine too well with fighting monsters, teachers don't have that much free time, so no wonder the plotline was dropped. But it is still pretty unusual, normally protagonists just have a job fighting monsters, don't they? It is probably difficult to combine a normal day job and superhero activities.
