sennetari: Floral with my journal name on it (Momoi & Akira)
Ah, I just finished watching Boku to Kanojo no XXX (yes, I'm behind in time). It has been a while, so I forgot that I hadn't seen episode 4: the recap in episode 5 set me straight.

Anyway, I'm a little disappointed with the open ending. Perhaps that's the danger of doing the drama while the manga is still running. The drama people just can't end the drama in the way that will contradict the manga later on.

Yet I really think I like episodes 4 and 5 a lot. I wish I could go to Okinawa... )

I'll take your two million yens for a piece of furniture, please. )

Watch BokuKano if you have two hours to spare and don't mind plot revolving around body switching. )

I'm going to watch other things, but none of them wants to play (well, picture--I get the sound) on my dvd player. Oh well. Until I figure it out...this is probably as close to fandom as I can get.

EDIT: Triple negatives for the lose (if this could be an expression). I can't believe I hadn't caught them until now.
sennetari: Floral with my journal name on it (Yumiko's Rei-chan)
A tale of an ugly duckling who is reborn as a beautiful swan. )

How it compared to other Morinaga manga )

Ending. Little spoiler. )

And, GEE, more edit, though I doubt anyone will see. I think I like Rei-chan, after all, even though he is so unreliable. He's an eye candy half of the time at least.
sennetari: Floral with my journal name on it (K-chan is not happy)
I'm currently in love with this series, which kind of surprises me a little. My prior encounter with the series (which wasn't so positive). )

...and now )

And, this. I don't know, maybe I shouldn't be so happy about it. Ultraman references are not that scarce in anime and manga, but I think this is the first time I've seen one in a shoujo manga.

Working my way through the drama. I finished two episodes so far. :) Glad that episode 2 (and the series in general) seems to improve on the original manga story. Although a guy (besides Yamada) whom I was really looking forward to doesn't (so far) seem as cute as the one in the manga. Not to mention this seemingly familiar place makes an appearance again (I suppose if I put myself to it, I can eventually find out exactly where this place is). And I so love the upbeat theme song (whose name is Happiness, I believe).

(Tagging everything, when actually I don't talk much about anything else other than Conan.)

I could say that I'm watching this for Shun Oguri, which would be partly true. Must be the first drama series ever (well, this and BokuKano, which I console myself (because I don't see any way I can finish the thing yet) by re-reading the manga) I didn't check out because a tokusatsu actor (that I know of anyway) was in it, but because I'm familiar with the manga.

Cut so I'm not taking up space on f-list. )

my reactions to other people's reviews )

(This was supposed to be posted two weeks ago, but life happened and I had to be away from the internet. Had a half-baked post on that subject but it depressed me so I decided not to bother people with it.)
sennetari: Floral with my journal name on it (Momoi & Akira)
Well, came across a few early episodes of Boku to Kanojo no XXX live-action. It's pretty short, with only around 16 minutes for each episode. Without much spoilers, vague impressions of episodes 1-3 )

BokuKano (or probably better known as "Your and My Secret" in the U.S.) is a hilarious (well, subjective opinion, of course) body switching manga by Ai Morinaga (whose other works I have to remember to check out, but probably after watching the drama(s) based on them (1)). Anyway, I have no idea whether the drama is completed (although it should since it must be from last year at the latest, but the manga hasn't ended yet, that's for sure).

(1) Watched the Special of another Ai Morinaga manga last year and it spoiled some parts of the story for me (I'm sensitive to spoilers--wish I'd known about the formatting of this particular SP beforehand), so I guess until I forget about those, I'll have to hold off on watching the actual drama version. BokuKano, however, I'd read the manga first, so I already know most of what to expect anyway.

Why do manga I read or toku I watch seem to have date(s) taking place in a zoo? I can't decide whether this is something I miss in the Japanese culture, or it's just mere coincidence that young Japanese couples seem to like going out to zoos. Anyway, I don't even know how to start looking up this information since it seems so specific.

A list of series under here, in case there might be slim chances of spoilers. )
